Stephanie Kahle wrote this book in 2008 while her husband was deployed on a strike team for 21 days to combat the wildfires that ravaged the state of California. She was at home with their two toddlers and wished for a picture book she could read to her children, explaining why their dad was gone for so long. She has an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor degree in Sociology. She lives in Southern California with her husband, Fire Captain Ehren, their two children, Tehren and Vailyn, and a couple of sweet pups.
A graduate of electronic art from Chico State, Karen Riedler is a creative adventurer. She loves to play with concepts of fantasy and surrealism. Her main passion is for illustration, fashion and painting. Karen involves herself in her community by painting murals and participating in regular creative projects. She is thrilled to have worked on this book as she relished the opportunity to give back to the firefighters that saved her family's home. She lives east of San Diego with her husband, Cory, their daughter, Luna and son, Otto.
